Oasis

Oasis Water

Refresh, Revive, Refill

Background
The Oasis Water concept sprung to life in 2003 and the concept of bottling clean, safe drinking water at an affordable price was integrated with the additional benefit of refilling large containers. By the end of the next year another two stores had been opened, reaffirming the fact that the Oasis concept was underpinned by sound business principles and with these fundamentals in place it was decided that the best way to grow the business, the brand and entrepreneurial spirit within Oasis was through franchising. Over the years the Oasis brand and franchise has grown by leaps and bounds, offering many franchisees great new opportunities throughout South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. The Oasis success story is concerned with the well-being of our planet and its people.

In 2009 Oasis was incorporated as a full member of the Franchise Association of South Africa (FASA). The company also become the first bottled water company in South Africa to become a full member of PET Plastic Recycling South Africa (PETCO) and the company continues to support initiatives for ongoing recycling in South Africa. Amongst its many accomplishments Oasis was nominated amongst the Top 4 finalists in FASA’s Franchisor of the Year award in 2010 and they achieved 2nd place for their participation in the International Franchise and Entrepreneurs Expo in 2011. In 2014 Kruger National Park extended an Award of Appreciation to Oasis for their support in the fight against rhino poaching. 2015 was a big year for Oasis as one of their Directors, Naas du Preez, is elected by FASA to serve as their Chairman for 2016. In 2016 the Oasis celebrated the establishment of their 250th franchise and in 2017 the company opened two Express Stores in the Kruger National Park.
The concept under the spotlight
In terms of the franchise agreement, Oasis Water franchisees are granted a controlled right to trade under the Oasis trademark, using the franchisor’s proven system. The franchise package comprises everything needed to establish the franchise and the franchisor provides continued assistance to inexperienced business owners as they learn the ropes of running a successful business.

Oasis Water is not your average drinking water — it is oxygenated, purified drinking water. Endorsed and recommended by medical practitioners, homeopaths and natural healers, Oasis Water has been shown to be highly beneficial to people who suffer from a range of common ailments including asthma, arthritis, high blood pressure and migraines to name but a few.

With a range of high-quality, affordable and environmentally friendly products that fulfil the needs of various markets from households and corporates to retail chains, Oasis franchisees are able to tailor-make solutions for the various markets they serve.

Site selection is a crucial component for the success of an Oasis outlet. Franchisees are charged with identifying at least two potential sites that will be subjected to a viability assessment conducted by the franchisor before site approval is granted.

Initially, two employees will be sufficient for a store, but this will change as the business grows.
Franchisor support
In addition to the business support provided by the Franchise Development Consultants the franchisor conducts regular site visits during which they aim to identify areas where franchisees may require additional assistance.

In addition to training, marketing and national advertising, the franchisor provides advice and assistance with applying the standardised business system.
