Background
Evolutionvape (Pty) Ltd was established in early 2014 with the vision to provide support to smokers wishing to quit the habit. In the belief that the rapidly growing vaping market would provide a vehicle for this purpose they sought contacts in the USA, UK and China. While at this time the choices of flavour and nicotine were limited, as electronic cigarette hardware products became more sophisticated it was clear that the writing was on the wall.
The first Evolutionvape outlet was opened in Clearwater Mall in Roodepoort soon followed by a second outlet in KeyWest Shopping Centre, Krugersdorp. From these humble beginnings turnover has grown 36-fold and although there are many more players in the market today the Evolutionvape continues to offer customers affordable hardware, a range of leading brands and the safest range of flavours in South Africa.

The concept under the spotlight
Evolutionvape is offered as a turnkey operation either at an existing location or a location of the franchisees choice. The franchisor provides the shopfitting, operating systems, hardware, products, and marketing material. The franchise is process and procedure driven and compliance to the business will protect your investment. Applicants must have access to working capital sufficient to cover at least three months operational expenses; six months is recommended for new locations.
The distribution centre maintains a comprehensive product range including spares and accessories and products are supplied on a payment in seven days from invoice basis. In addition, the franchisor supports all factory warrantees and assists franchisees with product repairs.
Evolutionvape customers are defined in three tiers – the beginner, the intermediate user and the expert. Beginners are typical smokers trying to quit the habit. Intermediate users only need to Vape for a touch of a nicotine hit, but they are also learning to enjoy the social side of Vaping. Expert users are the hobbyists, they like to experiment and do tricks.
Locations in super regional malls have proven especially successful for Evolutionvape outlets.
If required the franchisor will source staff on behalf of the franchisee, however the franchisee will have the final say and franchisees assume responsibility for their staff’s performance.
Franchisor support
Of the believe that adequate support is a key contributing factor to franchisee success, franchisees enjoy the support of a dedicated Franchisee Support Manager (FSM) who, as the franchisee’s go-to-guy, acts as intermediary between the franchisee and franchisor. The FSM performs site inspections, conduct monthly stock takes and undertake on-site training and repairs. Accounting and HR support is also available.
Training is provided for the franchisees, administrators and sales staff.
The monthly Marketing Fee provides all point of sale material, including monthly print and electronic promotions.
Do you fit the profile?
In the retail environment time and effort invested equals profits out and therefor Evolutionvape is not a suitable franchise for passive investors. As with any business a sound understanding of accounting, business fundamentals and marketing will be an advantage.
